But in an interview with Q magazine, singer Chris Martin played down the reports and said it “depends if we get asked”.
He added: “That’s like getting asked to dance by Robert Pattinson if you’re a young girl. Imagine if Robert Pattinson called and asked, 'Do you want to touch my balls?'.”

He told Q Magazine: "We're down to 15. I'm trying to make sure there are three songs that start with the same letter. On the last album it was 'L'. It might be 'U' this time.
"One of them is 'Up With The Birds'. It might be a duet, but we don't know who with yet. The other two might change."
Aside from song titles beginning with the letter U, Chris revealed there are tracks slated for inclusion on the album including 'Hurts Like Heaven' and 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall', which will likely be the album closer.
Describing the sound, Chris added that guitarist Jonny Buckland is coming into his own.
He said: "'Hurts Like Heaven' is all Jonny. It only has two chords. The songs are group-y, its guitar-y. Johnny is coming out of his cocoon. We're just trying some risky things."
The singer is keen for the group to push themselves, as he feels they're battling against time to complete their best work.
He added: "We're hungry and very fired up. In five years we'll be in our late 30s. You have to have your best work done my then."

“It sounds group-y. All the bits that are normally turned down in the mix are all up. It’s guitar-y. Jonny is coming out of his cocoon. We’re just trying some risky things,” he told Q magazine.
“Well, we want to try and perfect the handclap. Which is very hard to do. That doesn’t sound very futuristic, does it? And things like removing pianos and letting the song become something else it wasn’t when we started.”
Coldplay are keeping the album details a closely guarded secret, but Chris has revealed a few juicy morsels. He explained it’s likely a duet will be featured, and has even let slip one track name.
“I’m trying to make sure there are three songs that start with the same letter. On the last album, it was L. It might be U this time. One of them is Up With The Birds,” he explained. “It might be a duet, but we don’t know who with yet. The other two might change, depending on whether Umbro go out of business.”

Chris Martin admits he’s been “playing it a bit safe” for a large part of his life.
The Coldplay singer said the lyrics on the band’s next album are inspired by New York graffiti and the White Rose Movement – a group of German children in World War II who printed anti-Nazi flyers – and he admires people who speak out and express themselves in negative environments – admitting he’s not always done that himself.
He told Q Magazine: “I admire it. I’ve spent a lot of my life playing it a bit safe or conforming to something, even though I didn’t agree with it. So I have respect and admiration for people who don’t.
The ideas come from graffiti art of the 70s in New York, where people were expressing themselves with paint. Then there was the White Rose Movement. Anybody who’s standing up for themselves.
“It’s about being free to be yourself and to express yourself among negative surroundings. Being able to speak out or follow your passion, even if everybody seems against it.”
The Viva La Vida hitmakers are presently in the studio in London, recording their fifth album, and although they are still considering what the title will be, Chris gave a hit away.
He added: “I don’t want to say about the title. It will probably begin with an ‘M’. Two words.

The singer, 33, told Q Magazine: "We're hungry and very fired up. In five years we'll be in our late 30s. You have to have your best work done by then."
He's got a point. Just look at the drop in quality from rock legends THE ROLLING STONES and BOB DYLAN when they hit mid life.
Chris must have been holed up with legendary production wizard BRIAN ENO for a bit too long as his odd working methods have started to rub off on the frontman.
He has been obsessing about the letters in the band's song titles the same way DAVID BECKHAM fusses over Coke cans in his fridge.
Chris said: "I'm trying to make sure there are three songs that start with the same letter.
"On the last album it was L. It might be U this time.
"One of them is Up With The Birds. It might be a duet, but we don't know who with yet."
After wife GWYNETH PALTROW recently nailed her Glee and Country Music Awards gigs, maybe he should get her involved?
Or perhaps the Jigga Man is lined up for a guest rap?
Whoever it is, I'm looking forward to it.
